Meet Your Trainer
I'm Ian, Owner and Trainer here at Inception K9. I’ve been passionate about dogs for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I’ve always been drawn to understanding their behaviour, how they communicate, and what it really takes to create a calm, balanced dog.
That passion became something much deeper when I rescued a Belgian Malinois with serious behavioural issues. At the time, I quickly realised that standard advice wasn’t going to cut it. His behaviour forced me to properly learn how dogs think, how they communicate, and how to bring stability to a dog that was anything but calm. Through time, consistency, and the right approach, his behaviour completely changed. He went from being a difficult, unpredictable dog to one that is calm, controlled, and reliable. That experience didn’t just change him, it shaped the way I train and ultimately set me on the path to doing this professionally.
Since then, I’ve gone on to become accredited in the NeMo Dog Training System and was mentored by Yogz Peri, widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading dog trainers. That guidance, combined with hands-on experience, has allowed me to develop a clear, structured approach that focuses on real-world results, not just training ground obedience. With over four years of experience, I’ve worked with a wide range of dogs, from over-excited family pets to more complex behavioural cases, including reactivity and aggression.
My goal is always the same. To create calm, neutral, and reliable dogs built on trust and respect, that you can take anywhere with confidence, at a price that is affordable. My approach is built around calm leadership, clear communication, and consistency. I don’t believe in quick fixes or masking behaviours with treats or distractions. Instead, I focus on addressing the root cause, helping your dog understand what’s expected of them in a way that is fair, effective, and lasting.
I’m known for being calm, non-judgemental, and easy to work with. No matter your situation, you won’t be criticised, you’ll be supported. I work closely with owners to give them clarity and confidence, so they can maintain the results long after the training is finished. My philosophy is simple: No gimmicks, no treats, just real-world dog training. The aim is to build a dog that is calm, balanced, and reliable, one you can trust in any environment.
Based in Hull, I work with dog owners across the local area who are looking for honest training, clear structure, and results that last. If you’re ready to put the work in and want a dog you can truly rely on, I’m here to help you get there.

What Owners Are Saying
"In just one session with Ian, my dog's reactive behaviour and extreme pulling were corrected. Ian was patient with me and the dog and really informative. I left the session feeling good and confident that i can now correct my dog's negative behaviours with the techniques Ian has taught me. After being told by another trainer that i will never be able to stop my dog pulling, this was a game changer. Thanks Ian."

"We had our first 1-1 with Ian today with our German Shepherd x Husky. We was so shocked at what we achieved in just one hour session. Narla being nervous and reactive was a different dog after an hour long training session, we can't thank you enough and we look forward to progressing with you further"
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ashley From Hull
"A great 1-1 session, our lab is a puller and walks was becoming more and more difficult. within 10 minutes our boy was walking properly and Ian had identified area for us to correct behaviour. By the end of our session, it was like having a different dog on the end of the lead! Highly recommended. Ian made everything look easy and gave us guidance as to where we had been going wrong. We wasn't made to feel stupid either. A fantastic session and a great trainer! Would highly recommend! "
